Tutorial — Getting Started with Aria

Aria's guided onboarding wizard gets you from install to a live, working assistant in about two minutes. Here's the full walkthrough.

Step 1: Install and open Aria
After installing from the Shopify App Store, you'll land inside Aria in your Shopify Admin. If your account is still finishing setup, the dashboard will say so and refresh automatically.

Step 2: Watch the live demo
Before you configure anything, Aria shows you a live preview chat built from your own synced products and policies — a product recommendation, a real policy question, and a discount example.

Step 3: Personalize (Onboarding Step 1)
Set your bot name, write a welcome message (you can use {{customer_name}} to greet logged-in shoppers), pick a tone from 10 presets, choose a primary color, and set a widget position.

Step 4: Choose your focus (Onboarding Step 2)
Turn on the AI Sales Agent (recommendations, smart discounts), the AI Product Assistant (on-demand Q&A, PDP button), or both. You can change this anytime later in Settings.

Step 5: Go live (Onboarding Step 3)
Click Activate in my store — this opens your Theme Editor with the Aria app embed pre-selected. Toggle it on and save. The wizard detects activation automatically.

Step 6: Refine your setup in Settings
Fine-tune Appearance (brand voice, session retention, language), Live Chat (escalation email, business hours, quick replies), Discounts (Starter+), and Integrations (Growth+).

Step 7: Build out your Knowledge Base
Add FAQ entries, knowledge articles, or import content from a URL. Check "Generate suggestions" periodically for AI-proposed FAQs based on real conversations.

Step 8: Set up Inbox Guard
Configure tone-scoring sensitivity, threat detection, spam filtering, de-escalation drafts, alert emails, protected phrases, and a safe list of trusted emails.

Step 9: Test it
Open your storefront in an incognito window and try a product question, an order-status question, and a return question to confirm everything works as expected.

Step 10: Monitor and improve
Check your Home dashboard for resolution rate and escalations, use the Inbox to respond to handoffs, and (on Growth/Pro) review Analytics for revenue influenced and product engagement.
